Tile repair cost - FAQ

How much does tile repair cost in Calgary?
From 11 real residential repair estimates, the median was $7,612, with most jobs between $1,400 and $16,000. Small grout/silicone repairs start around $1,400; water-damage jobs needing tear-out and re-waterproofing climb past $16,000.
How much does it cost to regrout a shower?
Regrouting and grout repair are among the lowest-cost fixes, typically starting in the low $1,000s depending on shower size and whether silicone reseal and minor tile resetting are included.
Why does my shower base keep failing?
Shower base repair appears in nearly half of our repair jobs, and the cause is almost always failed or missing waterproofing on the original build. Repairing the shower base properly means removing tile, re-waterproofing, and re-setting - which is why prevention is far cheaper than repair.
How much does it cost to repair one tile?
A single cracked or loose tile is usually handled as a minimum-charge visit - our smallest repair estimates start around $1,400, covering the call-out, matching, removal and re-set. One tile rarely justifies a trip alone, so it's often bundled with grout or silicone touch-ups.
Can broken tiles be repaired?
Yes - crack and loose-tile repair is about 36% of our repair jobs. Cracked tiles get the affected pieces replaced and re-grouted; drummy or lifting tiles get re-set. The hard part is usually matching discontinued tile, so keep spares if you have them.
Is regrouting floor tiles worth it?
Often yes - regrouting is one of the lowest-cost fixes (typically the low $1,000s) and restores both the look and the moisture seal, as long as the tile underneath is still sound. If tiles are loose or the substrate has moved, regrout alone won't hold and the floor needs proper re-setting.
Can you fix water-damaged tile?
Yes - we handle cracked, loose and water-damaged tile and showers, including drypack/base rebuilds, re-waterproofing and re-tiling. Request a free assessment.
